Day 5 and i don’t wanna get out of bed

This is the most time I’ve hsd in months. Things were not going well for me. I’m taking my therapists advice on the depression meds. But I honestly just wanna stay in bed. The world is a big alcohol advertisement.

Then stay in bed. Perhaps day 6 will dawn brighter for you.

good job on day 5. It is normal to be really tired. It will get better and you will get stronger. Those alcohol ads and everything that is thrown at you will get easier to ignore.

I wince when I see alcohol ads showing a "good time" while drinking. When I was committed to my last quit, I took a vacation from 'life' for a few days and just sat/laid around for days,read/posted here and started going to meetings pretty regularly for the first couple of months. Some were court ordered, but I had come to realize I really needed to be there.

If you can, definitely stay!!!

This is the healing period and it is important that you listen to your body.

Keep your eyes on the price and hang here. We will be here for support.

Keep going, it can be hard at first. It does get better. One day at a time, your walking away from the chaos and upheaval of active addiction.
