Day 1
Everyone is different, but I'd expect the usual: irritability, insomnia, etc., In addition to difficulty sleeping you may feel very tired/sleepy during the day. Be sure to drink plenty of water and vitamin supplements and eat well.
I'm on Day 4 and this isn't my first rodeo. Be careful as alcohol withdrawal can be serious and if your symptoms get bad go to the hospital or a doctor.
I go through hot flashes, a bit of shaking, night sweats, insomnia, irritability, foggy brain, nausea and sometimes dry heaves. I'm tired now but am drinking as much water as I can along with vitamins to flush out my system. I'm also eating healthy to help give my body the nutrients that alcohol have been depriving it of.
Be strong and good luck to you.

Like others have said everyones different - I even had a wide variation in my own history - sometimes I have no ill effects at all and other times I felt like I was dying.
I hope things won;t be so bad for you, but you can always go see the Dr if your worried?

Great work, Smyk!! I enjoy hanging out in the “Weekenders” thread. It is inside the Newcomers section. Wide variety of sobriety periods there, and i find it motivating to get to know people a bit. If you are like me, you might like want to just find an active, supportive thread that you relate to and get into the conversation.
Staying sober and POSTing, that is huge! Keep up the good work!
