The AV is already starting to talk.
I get off work in 35 minutes. My AV has already started. It’s trying to give me reasons why today isn’t a good day to quit drinking. Well, I’ve decided to just tell it to shut up because I’m not going to drink today.
This is the hardest part of the day for me. I’m going to keep my plan and head to the beach for some self reflection. Then to a meeting before going home to walk the dogs, cook and do laundry.

Your AV may be clever and devious. But it is not smart. Because, without a doubt, today IS a good day to quit drink. In fact, today is the BEST day to quit drinking.
Really. It is. Good luck. We are pulling for you. You can DO this, Sinderos!

There's always gonna be some person, place
or thing in life that will try and ruffle our feathers,
pizz us off, rock our boat, upset us, make us
angry that we become fuming mad, hold a resentment
towards, because it did not go our way, etc.
All these things in life, many we have no
control over that make us reach for a drink,
alcohol, poison, a controlled substance,
narcotic, bad behaviors, relationships,
gambling, whatever is out there in the
world we think will fix us, numb us, sedate
us, etc.
Learning about addiction, what it does
to us, affects us, our minds, every inch
of our beings, then learn some sort of
recovery program to help find healthier
ways to work thru everyday problems.
Once we learn how to not drink each
day then we learn to live life without
drinking.
AA was the program of recovery that
was taught to me some 27 yrs ago and
i learned it then applied it each and
every single day to get me where I am
today. Healthier, happier, honest as long
as I maintain my program in all areas of
my life continuously each day.
Life will happen each day and as long
as I'm sober incorporating my program
of recovery taught to me then I'm
prepared for whatever person place
or thing comes my way to ruffle my
feathers.
You can be too.

Sounds like a good idea Sinderos. One of the things that helped me early on was to plan my whole day out - I literally planned something for every hour of every day so I did not have any time when I had "nothing to do". Idle minds allow the AV to creep back in very quickly as you are seeing.

AA Thought for the Day
Keeping sober is the most important thing in my life. The most important decision I ever made was my decision to give up drinking. I am convinced that my whole life depends on not taking that first drink. Nothing in the world is as important to me as my own sobriety. Everything I have, my whole life, depends on that one thing.
Can I afford ever to forget this, even for one minute?
Meditation for the Day
I will discipline myself. I will do this disciplining now. I will turn out all useless thoughts. I know that the goodness of my life is a necessary foundation for its usefulness. I will welcome this training, for without it God cannot give me this power. I believe that this power is a mighty power when it is used in the right way.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may face and accept whatever discipline is necessary. I pray that I may be fit to receive God's power in my life.
