10 Days Sober
Good evening or morning or afternoon depending on where you are in the world. I Originally came here in August of last year and fell right back off the wagon for well over a year. I woke up 10 days ago with the shakes, diarrhea, vomiting, and sweating. I swore up and down that was it. I was awake 5 days before I could get to the doctor and get a temporary prescription for ativan so I could sleep. My recovery plan includes AA, this site, and getting my body back in shape. I am a former weight trainer and martial artist. At 51 I can't get it all back but I can give it a helluva try Help me on this journey please.

Hang in here with us this time. Sure do understand. There are a lot of us here in our 50s, too, and I’ve taken a lot of encouragement from people my age who have turned things around and are living peacefully and well, sober.
I'm around your age, too. I came here many times while still drinking. I went to AA meetings and still drank.
It took a wakeup call just like yours before I realized it was quit or die, but I had the support of the good people here and in AA who understood my predicament.
I went to AA meetings with sincerity, realizing it took work to stay sober. I learned so much here.
It's been six years plus since I've had a drink.
You can do it too. Just remember what you went through
and realize you never have to go through it again.
You can do it. And you don't have to do it alone.
I know where you're coming from and understand.
Best to you.
