51 hours since last drink
Welcome to the family. Physical withdrawal usually only lasts a few days so you should feel better soon.
You'll find lots of wisdom and support here. I hope we can help you get sober for good.

Strange thing is I feel very foggy headed, like ive had a drink. I feel very run down and sore physically but no shakes or sickness. Some sweating last night and I have what feels like a bad cold. I'm in London so its morning here. Bad headache too but I don't want a drink yet which is good. Yesterday I had to drive home fast as to not stop and buy wine or vodka but I did it and ive woke up very proud of myself. I actually feel happy
It gets better and better! Use the foggytime to start committing to never ever wanting to feel like that ever again. Drinking ruins the way life is suppose to be...happy and free from addiction. Keep on staying strong and your days will get brighter.

Thank you. I've been taking blood pressure medication which i used to double up on on big drinking days (which were most days) as to keep it to a safe level...this morning I have taken my blood pressure without my morning tablet and it's normal range. I'm astounded as this is only morning of day 3! I want this new sober life so bad I know I'm going to wobble and sometimes I will will be very close to falling again but I'm so determined I feel different this time.

My average daily drinking has been from 10 to 20 units every day...mostly nearer 20. For about 2 years. I was expecting such more severe withdrawal symptoms. I'm so happy I hope they don't kick in suddenly but I'm confident that at this point now 60 hours post last drink I'm getting through the worst
