Tomorrow = 1 Year

I'm a little emotional today because tomorrow I will be sober for a full year. It feels like a huge accomplishment and I'm unsure how to celebrate the milestone! Any suggestions?
Also, for those still struggling in their first days and months of sobriety, you CAN do this. I have faith in you.

BIG CONGRATS, Newleaf!!!! I know how you feel, I'm still amazed at how great sobriety is.
As for celebrating, all I did was post here and then kept on keeping on.
I've kind of downplayed this in my life. I shouldn't have got to the state I got to in the first place, so I love to post here, but day to day it's just another day.

Congratulations. Curious at what point you felt you'd rounded the corner so to speak, or if you have?

Congratulations NewLeaf

I'd celebrate by doing something self-caring and nurturing like getting a massage...enjoy 💜

Great news to here and very inspiring as I'm on Day 8 so it's good to hear people reaching these milestones and telling me it can be done.

Amazing to hear!!!

AA has monthly birthday celebrations at many/most meetings, if you are into that.

go to a 12 step shop and get a nice 1 year medallion, if you wish.

go for a nice steak dinner.

volunteer at a mission or soup kitchen and help others who are in need.

bite the bullet and sign up for that Artist's Way class you've been thinking about, or kayaking, or defensive driving course, or improv. EXPRESS the wonderful new you.

Congratulations on 1 year sober!

Over the past year you have probably saved a bunch of money you would have drank away. As your reward, buy yourself something.

(An iPad where you can access Sober Recovery from anywhere, might be a neat idea).

I'm really glad to read this NewLeaf

Celebrate whatever way you want - so long as it's healthy positive and life affirming

Congratulations!!! One year is a huge accomplishment! I second the idea to do something nurturing/self-care related. A massage, or sign up for some sessions with a personal trainer, a spa day, buy those expensive, top-of-the-line vegan, whole-food vitamins. Something like that.
