Close Call I stopped by the grocery store for a few things on my way home this afternoon. In my part of the world, the liquor, beer, and wine selection is pretty impressive and the first thing you see past the produce when you walk in the door. I slowly walked past the aisles of delicious wine, wishing that I could enjoy just one bottle. However, I know that I can't enjoy one bottle because one will turn into two or three and a headache in the morning. I almost rationalized a walk through the aisles by telling myself, "I'll just get a 6 pack for my husband." It was just so tempting, so close. Suddenly, thankfully, my kids in the buggy began arguing and snapped me out of it. I walked away. Side note: Grocery shopping is WAY cheaper when you don't buy alcohol. |
Hi MetalRose !! I feel this way every time I pass the beer distributer on my way home with all those beer signs flashing. I bet their sales are way down the last 13 days :) |
Well done! The liquor isle can be a minefield in early sobriety (well, at any time really) so I'm glad you just kept walking. |
Good job getting through that, and weren't your kids helpful. :) Next time will be easier. |

Good job beating that today👏 Yeah, boozing is a complete ripoff! It’s so nice having more cash in my wallet each week. |
I also have a sobriety/ money saved app counter on my phone. I'm 92 days sober and have saved $1385.25 so far. :-) |
Wow! That's a lot of extra cash! |
I'm glad you got through that metalrose :) D |
