Unbroken

I received the "Gift of Desperation" 3 years 2 months and 1 day ago.
The pain, shame and loneliness is as fresh in my mind as if it was yesterday. My alcoholism crept so slowly that I didn't notice, yet so fast that I didn't see it coming. I was mentally broken and spiritually bankrupt.
Today I am a grateful, sober, spiritually fit woman, wife, mother, daughter and friend. By living one day at a time, sometimes one moment at a time, the worst of me is in my rear view mirror. The best is yet to come.
If you are struggling today, call it a day and go to bed. I promise that you will NOT wake in the morning thinking.... "I wish I'd got drunk last night!"
Be well, sleep tight.
