New to site Day 7
Hi Came across this site this evening and seeing a lot of support which I feel I need. Im on day 7 being sober and this evening is very hard but I’m trying to stay strong for myself and family. Wondering what next step I should take?

Hi there You'll find plenty of support here.
My recommendation for your next step is to devise a plan to keep yourself sober. Short term goals worked for me (still do at day 87). Do you have a support network of some sort?

It's great to have you with us, Treasurefinder. When I came here I was amazed at how many people struggled just the same as I did. I had felt all alone until then. I read and posted a lot in the first weeks after joining - it was a great distraction, and I learned so much.
Congratulations on your 7 days sober. We know how hard you worked to get to this point - things will get better.

I’m really am and surprised at myself I feel a lot better if it has only been 8 days. I would wake up in the mornings feeling awful and tired and the last couple of mornings I have had more of a spring to my step lol. I’m just praying I won’t go backwards and trying to stay strong.

Thank you so much! This site is truly amazing all the stories I have read and support it gives me hope I can fight this and become a better wife and mother and not pick up a drink again. I didn’t make it to the meeting to which I was really gonna go and looking forward to cause I had urges and anxiety today but I got invited to a pottery show tonight which I probably wouldn’t have gone to if I was drinking and had such a great time and kept my mind off wanting to drink and got to experience something new and fun and didn’t have alcohol involved.

Treasure - thanks for posting and great job. You got this!
It will be day 7 for me at 1:15am, Sunday...but who's counting. Well, I'm cause it's hour2hour, day2day, one meeting at a time and one post (on SR) at a time, right?
The support here on SR is just incredible and thank you everyone.
Have a great weekend!
