Anybody from the "2014 crew" still around here??
Hey gang, just popping in to say high. I was just thinking about you guys, and I was wondering if anyone from the February 2014 time-frame was still around. Seeing lots of new faces just skimming through the front pages of the forums, but not many people from back then
Yes, still sober after all this time, that's not an issue thankfully. I never did AA or anything like that, one day I just decided to quit and haven't drank since. Time really is the best healer.
Was just bored this evening thought I would drop by. How is everybody these days? How's things?

Hi, Grubby, great to hear from you, and congratulations on your choice of sobriety. Seeing your description of getting sober as an event rather than some long process is refreshing. Your experience deserves sharing as it would help many of us who don’t believe that what you accomplished is possible. Well done! Hope to see more of you around here.

October 2014 here (just celebrated 3 years!) - still check in and read daily. I never thought I'd be without alcohol and had resigned myself to just dying early. For all the newer folks, sobriety IS possible and DOES get easier! I'm glad to see familiar names and even happier when I see new folks resolving to get help in fighting their addiction. This is a great site.
Hi Grubby and Weatherman,
thanks so much for sharing guys, great to hear from people who seem to have taken recovery in their stride and have years up, really inspiring and just when I needed it. Please feel to drop in and share your anniversaries with the rest of us early dayers - sure I and many others would get a boost from you trail blazers!

Congrats grubby! Over 3 and a half years sober is amazing!
I joined in March 2014. I remember going to the local St Patrick's day parade sober that year, a first for me. I didn't make sobriety stick for very long until I hit september of that year. I don't know if anyone from the Sept 2014 has had continuous sobriety without starting over, but there's a good number who haven't given up. I recently just hit a year. Maybe another half dozen of us are active on the board with new sober dates.
Thanks for checking in!

I joined here in January 2014, although I haven't got a great track record of posting, to say the least!
I'm just about to hit the 4 year drink-free mark. I say drink-free rather than "sober" because I still smoked quite a bit of synthetic cannabis and got into LSD for a few months but thankful I've been clean from everything for over a year now.
If anyone is still struggling I can assure you it gets better. I'm in a much better place mentally, spirituality and my career actually has direction and I'm getting married in a month.
Keep it up!

March 2014 here.
Good to see you grubby. I started on SR at about three days sober.
Haven't had a drink or any other mind altering drugs since. It's so much better on this side. I just quit, too. Did a few AA meetings but it was this site that helped me the most.
It was time. I knew it.

February 2014, present and accounted for! (That's my sobriety month, not the month I came to SR.)
How are you managing? Have you found your life is more rewarding since you stopped drinking?
Unlike you, grubby, I chose AA to stay sober. It hasn't been easy. I get fed up with the whole deal at times. Intuitively, though, I know I'm sunk if I leave. The group tries for kindness, tolerance and honesty as a way of life and that appeals to me.
