Back too day 1
Hi Mummy,
I'm glad you are here today. What supports have you had in place to help you stay sober?
I have found checking in here daily to be very helpful. In the beginning I really needed to plan alternate activities for the time I would have been drinking. I went for walks, to the gym, places with the kids, read lots... I also found yummy non-alcoholic drinks to replace wine, and looked forward to relaxing with those at the end of the day.
Where do you seem to be getting stuck?

Good to see you back. I wondered how you were getting on. remember when you used to post here regularly - that worked for you and you stayed sober. Maybe start posting regularly again if it helps you and work on a new plan for other support.
Glad you came back here to regroup. We have all been where you are right now so no need to explain. Today is all that matters. Let's more forward together. Please join the October Class. Yep, I am in that class. Relapsed just 10 days ago. Hope to see you in the Oct 2017 Class!
Apart from inviting a homeless person to live in our apartment and hubby going nuts at me, and asking me to tell him to leave, now I keep seeing him on the way too school, omg the shame of it really messed up
Mummy, you can do this!
Take a moment and reflect and use this as a learning experience. You were lured by the temporary relief that alcohol used to give you, and then you fell into the depression which inevitably follows. Make a plan to be ready the next time you feel lonely or bored.
And, keep reading and posting!

I am in the exact same boat as you. Today is my day 1... again. How many times must we do this to ourselves?! It seems maddening at times and right now my anxiety is through the roof. But, I find being on here and just reading some of the many amazing, inspiring posts helps immensely.
Keep your chin up, you are most definitely NOT alone! I’m rooting for you!! We can do this!!
I remember exactly how that felt, the feelings of boredom and loneliness. At first, being alone in the house, and sober, was awful. Today, I am more comfortable around myself, and less anxiety ridden. Because of sobriety.
For my sobriety to take hold, I had to upend my way of life. So that meant learning about addiction and alcoholism, and stop living in the land of ignorance and fear. I read several books on the subject, and still do. There are many available, endless youtube videos and podcasts discussing recovery. I suggest you look in to them, even just to browse.
I had to shake things up with exercise, and cooking, and home-making (we all need to do it), and yoga, and meditation.
Basically, as they say: nothing changes, if nothing changes. I changed myself, and got on a path with a clear vision of my future. Alcohol was not a part of that vision.
