Thomas - That is great. Did you GP mention a brand or is he prescribing?

My diet has sucked immensely ... Really terrible. I know I need to change it but I can only handle one thing right now and it's focusing on not drinking. Hoping to work on it when I'm a little stronger.

No she didn't mention a brand and not prescribing . I asked if magnesium would be beneficial but she wouldn't commit simply saying it wont do you any harm .

The supplement industry is huge and not regulated by the FDA or the EFSA (european food safety authority). Doctors know this so I don't think they are keen to talk too much about it ( all depends on the individual doctor I suppose) . I know that on prescription leaflets there are warnings not to take certain supplements . I was given a prescription drug once that warned not to take grapefruit with it ( I didn't take the tablets ). Ive saw warnings against St Johns wart on some medications too . Over the years I have been offered a dozen various ssri type medications and never took any after the very first pill years ago made me ill .
