Ankles swollen since Stopping

I have really swollen ankles which are quite painful. Even first thing in the so it's not related to standing for too long. On Google it's liver heart or kidney disease. My liver is fine. I saw a doctor but he reckoned it was caused by drinking. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not looking for medical advice just why am I getting this while sober. Maybe I need a second opinion

How long have you been sober?
Could be just water retention. Have you tried to take a rolling pin down your legs? Don't go upward.

I'd see another Doctor if I was you just to be sure. A few years ago I blacked out while drunk and and did something to my fibula on my ankle, at first I thought it was just sprained so i didn't see a Doctor for about 3 days but then it started to hurt even more and became bruised and swollen. I went to the doctor and got a referral to get an x-ray then i saw the Doctor again and she said you need immediate surgery which i got the next day. They put screws and plate on but still had to stay at the hospital for 5 days until i could go home. Just saying it could be something worse then what you think. I'd get an x-ray to be on the safe side
