Finally in new place
Hi all, we are finally no longer "homeless" and have moved into our new home. It is a town-home that is actually bigger than the house we were living in. We traded the lake lifestyle in an older home for a townhouse community where the home itself is much newer and nicer, but its still townhouse living. Neighbors everywhere and dogs barking etc...
The overall experience of buying this thing was a total nightmare. So much so, if I tried to type out all the issues, I would be writing a book and putting you all to sleep. I mention it because if I were drinking, this would not have gotten done (I don't believe). Drinking impairs judgement and I would have blown something somewhere along the line. For those who don't know, I am a Realtor now so I was the realtor and my wife was my "client". She bought this place. Very challenging until the bitter end. The people we bought this place from and their Realtor took all the joy out of the experience. But we are now in and getting to work.
I share this simply as an update as to what is going on for those who know me, and also because I quit drinking, I was on top of my game (I'm a new real estate agent), and by being on top of my game, and the other side not being on top of their game, I held all the cards to this transaction. Sadly, most problems in business can be resolved with money, and the problems that arose were solved with money.....their money. And that's what sobriety can do for us, we have our ducks in a row and can proceed with confidence and "win". Just want to share and hope all are well. Jeff.

So glad to hear you are in the new place.
Do you have a lot of painting, refinishing, etc. to do?
Changing addresses can be a hassle.
We moved from PA to Mass. 3 years ago.
Thankfully, I was sober.
Good luck and much happiness.

Hi Maudcat, yep, lots of work to do to make it our own. I'm ok with it. A little elbow grease sometimes makes us a little more appreciative of what we have.
