Class of October 2017 Support Thread pt. 1
That's great. If I had a boat I'd probably throw a bunch of pillows in it, take it out and read. :-)
Good job on the 10 days!

Learning how to deal with my anxiety - one day at a time. Took my cat to the vet and I feel a sense of relief. I get his blood work tomorrow. This simply reminds me I can take care of things under stress without medicating.

Hey all, I’m at Day 12 and I’m finally hitting that Pink Cloud. Why did I ever drink anyway? Being sober is fantastic. I know everything is temporary but if I have to suffer through the bad times, I’m gonna enjoy the good times too!
I’m going to a woman’s camping retreat with my church this weekend which should be a nice way to disconnect and recenter myself. Very good timing!

Hello all
Hello everyone, wanting to join the October class. I am on day 8 and trying to stay strong. Being on here and reading is really helping me and giving me hope I can stay sober. This week has been very hard at times but feeling so much better. Been a very long time since I have been sober for a whole week.
Morning class. Welcome darlad and treasure. Ready - hang in there. I am the poster child for relapses and “just having one.” Which is never one. Pick yourself up. You are back here which is the important thing.
Morning of day 7 here and feeling good. Have been away helping my parents move into a place they bought for retirement in the mountains. My internet access has been spotty, at best, which is not a bad thing. I pretty much unplugged from social media a couple of years ago, so no withdrawals there. :-)
Aside from the bickering a couple married 35 years will do, it has been a peaceful weekend. To be honest, we were in town yesterday afternoon getting groceries and for a split second my mind went to having a beer on their front porch overlooking the lake. I thought about how I would feel the next day, how one beer would not be enough, and what the actual point would be? I spent some money on a few of those fancy craft sodas and ended up having a far better evening. The mental masturbation (apologies) that the AV attempts is unreal at times....
I suppose it is the little wins like yesterday which lead to progress?
Anyway, good day to all. I plan to not be drinking with you today! BC

Thanks Dee and BC-I made the mistake of not posting when experiencing a strong craving. I also failed to utilize my Recovery Plan. Both are key. Also, playing the tape forward. Doing that has historically been helpful for me when having a tough time. I'm sad, but can only move forward from today. I don't want another Day 1.
I'm on day five after screwing up last Monday. BrandNewlLfe, I've been there, read a book do anything and don't let the boredom get you. Kids grow up fast , take them to the park and enjoy it while theyre young.
Good luck to everyone in the October 17 group and welcome to the new members . We can do it!
