Thx, I'll give it a try!

Melatonin gave me the scariest nightmares I've ever had. Never again.

It's a common side effect, you may want to do a little research, especially since your thread is about sleep and nightmares. :-|

I had the same experience. I use a supplement called ZMA (zinc something or other). Helps to stay asleep longer and deeper. Some weird dreams at times, but no nightmares.

ZMA has to be zinc/magnesium. (?) Maybe?

I take a zinc/calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D supplement at bedtime. It helps.

Im in the same boat. 2 kids 3rd will be here next month. Once everybody goes to bed i head to the garage and just get drunk. I have a futon out there so i fall asleep in the garage more often then i should. I am brand new to this so i am just reading everybody's first. Your story was almost spot on to mine

Thing is the weekend is alot of fun. My oldest plays the drums, so Friday nights his buddies come over and jam all night. The younger kids play video games, and all the parents hang in the garage and party it up. Then when everyone leaves I go ahead and make sure all the drinks are empty, or at least try. Get up Saturday and finish off any thing thats left, helps steady the hands.

No shakes to day. Hopefully I hit the bed hard tonight.

If I had a futon, I'd probably never leave.

Wishing you the best!

Chamomile tea is great. Hot bath with lavender and epsom salt really helped me. Those nightmares will stop fairly quickly with cessation. Hang in there. Stay with us. SR is a great relaxation tool late nights.

Keep going, buddy. Get through this first week and things will improve a lot.

Don't forget the doctor - they can medically help you through this. I didn't do that, I just toughed it out - BUT my shakes weren't noticeable to anyone but me. If it's too bad, call your doc.

The Dr is always an option Dave - sometimes detox can be brutal.

Day 3 down. Got about 6 hours of sleep last night. Took the kids to school this morning, and it started raining. ..no work for me. Went home and boom 5 more hours of sleep. Finally. Still got the shakes but very mild.

Glad you got some sleep. The first three days are usually the worst as far as withdrawal symptoms.
