30 days NO ALCOHOL wow

What a FEAT done 30 days no alcohol today.
Done a couple of weeks a few years back but alcohol had completely taken over my entire life from physical looks to my overall mentality.
Its was difficult the 1st week then 2nd very nearly blew it and bought a single bottle of beer came home with all intensions of sipping it to relieve the desire but just ate & ate and drank tea & also lemon water to control the craving to relapse to drink this monumental bottle of beer.
Since then my cravings have subdued vastly and am getting more comfortable with my decision to try to quit this poison.
My face and body are now not as BLOATED and have been cycling and jogging lightly and feel fitter
My mental depression and anxiety have virtually disappeared and am more focused and positive than I have felt in years (52)
WITHIN 30 DAYS I FEEL TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND HOPE THE LORD I CAN KEEP FOCUSED AND BATTLE THIS EVIL ONCE AND FOR ALL....
I ain't no preacher but I have seen the LIGHT if thats what it is... To rebuild a life from the HELL of drink...

I'm so happy for you. Visit here daily and post regularly, the support and knowledge is amazing. Good job eating to defeat your urges, that works for me too.

I have 11 months and there have been many ups and downs. The first 30 are the hardest I think. You are doing great! Just don't let your guard down.

Congrats! I can't wait to say that. I'm at Day 3 and the struggle is real. I'm praying I will get to 30 and feel better like you...physically and mentally. Keep going....I'm inspired

Great job Marcus, awesome post almost fits my situation. I have nine more days to go to reach 30. Keep it up.

I ain't no preacher either. but Ive had the comparison of a sober mind vs a drinking mind far to many times. So many failed attempts behind me.

Enough is enough. I choose a sober mind, its far more addictive then a drinkers mind.

I congratulate you on your 30 days.

Perhaps assess what triggers you may get the next 30?

Great job! That's awesome work :-) Its amazing how different we feel in just a relatively short amount of time (compared to how long we drank) but 30 days feels like a long time doesn't it?? It's great motivation to keep going and enjoying our new life. :-)

Great job Marcus. It really, truly gets better doesn't it?

Been a LURKER to this site all the way through and it does definately help reading as many posts to be able to compare your issues that fit so many others..
Over the last year although consuming every day I have tried gradually to cut down my daily intake but still would binge 2/3 times per week.
Didnt think I could COPE without this poison wanting it always to be my loyal friend but in reality its my biggest enermy gradually wrecking my life day by day bit by bit...
Ive WOKE up at last and know Im in CHARGE of these pathatic voices trying to lead me astray to ruin myself...
Good to feel calm and in control to get more focused and battle these DEMONS once and for all.
