Hi!

Hi
I'm new here. I'm so thankful for your posts. I stopped drinking last Sunday...and on Wednesday I became very ill with the flu. I went to see my doctor (best decision since the first decision to quit) and am slowly recovering from the alcohol abuse and the flu. It's been a rough week to say the least.
I would like to share in this journey with you! Right now ... all I can do is make it my priority to not drink today and to deal with the overwhelming emotions of anxiety, insomnia, and sadness. However I do have a small seed of Hope and that is why I am here. I MUST nurture and grow this seed of Hope into an entire garden of a better reality. I'm not living my best life.
I would like to share more but am still trying to just get better from feeling so physically ill.
Hope you have a good day!
BunBun

Bun,

Flu like symptoms ae what I routinely experienced when detoxing.

When they went away, I would start drinking again.

Thanks.

Wonderful to have you with us, BunBun. It's helped me so much to be part of this community. I drank 30 years & always felt so alone with the problem. It helps to share our thoughts & support each other - plenty of encouragement to be found here. Welcome!

Oh thank you! I'm gonna do the 24 hour check in... seems like that's a good daily place to reaffirm my commitment to myself.
I have not been this ill in a long time. It's actually bronchitis..but I couldn't type that out yesterday. I'm feeling the effects of not taking care of myself. My doctor told me I need to take action for my health. Can you hear the phone ring? That's a wake up call! There's alot for me to work on... but right now... don't drink and get better!

BubBun ~ you are now on your way to living your best life!

I know this part is hard, especially being sick.
Hold on tight to all of us and look after yourself as best as you can....tea and toast and keep yourself warm. Maybe lemon tea with honey....it can be very comforting.

Sending you more love.

Suze x
