Heading into Day 80 tomorrow and
I had my first HUGE challenge last Friday! My son (32) and I went to have lunch at a pub type restaurant where we had gone quite a few times in the past. I always had my drink of choice (wine) with lunch. The food is delicious there and that is where we ended up. I never even thought about the dangers of rekindling my past with lunch and alcohol when we made the plans. Alcohol was not even a distant thought. So we get there, grab a booth and bam...the server ask the question. Would you like something from the bar? My son ordered his usual beer and I never even wavered on my decision to order an ice water with lemon! My son looked at me and said...oops Mom do you want me to get the server to cancel my beer. I said absolutely not! I am so proud to say that I did not even THINK about or WANT alcohol. Everyone around was drinking with lunch. It is like that feeling is gone....gone ....gone. Major test....passed! |
