Hi

Hi I'm a mother of a crack addict son in his late 20s. I struggle with coping emotionally and mentally. I feel alone and helpless as I cannot help him. Is there anything I can do to save him?

Welcome to SR Jojuden. There's not much any of us can do to save/change addicts we know and love. We can give them support if they ask, but we have to also make sure we aren't enabling their use at the same time. The addict needs to make their own mind up to actually quit, and sometime they keep using when it hurts them around them. There is supper for you here as well...we even have a forum specific for family and friends of addicts, and you are always welcome here in the newcomers forum too.

There is much to learn and not much you can do unless you son chooses to get help. Check out the Friends and Family Forum for more support. Hope you find the help you need.

Hi and welcome jojuden :)

I'm sorry for what brings you here but this is a place of great support - you're not alone.

I pray your son will have what we call a moment of clarity and decide to save himself, like many of us here have.

If love counts for anything sounds like he's a lucky guy :)

wishing both you and your son the best Joanna :)
