Newcomer, wife of an alcoholic

Hello,
I am new to this site hoping to gain a little help. My husband is an alcoholic and likes to take pills. I am not sure how to navigate through the site yet as this is my first time in it. Seeking help to understand

Welcome, and I'm sorry for your situation. I think the most important thing is for you to focus on taking care of yourself. Hopefully your husband will seek support for himself.

I'm sorry for what brings you here Mclassy but SR is a place of great understanding and support.

Do you mean understand addiction? thats a tough one because addition is not often logical.

what effect has your husbands addictions had on your family?

Mainly negative. Although he wouldn't say that. He is perfect in every way, he told me so. I meant understand what typically happens. From step to step. I am not new to the big A in my life but this is the first time someone I loved went to AA and actually said he had a problem.
We have been on the fence of divorce for years but I've stayed for my stepdaughter, money and now money.
