Meetings
 

I just got home from my Monday meeting, I didn't want to go, I was beat and hungry.
I tried real hard to talk myself out of going, but I went, sat in the back and watched the clock. My friend came up to me after the meeting, asked what was going on. Told him I didn't want to be there. He gave me a big old hug, and said "two best times to go to a meeting, when you feel like and when you don't feel like it."
Best advice I've ever heard, meetings always make me feel better but some times I have to get kicked in the rear to go.
It sure is nice to know, we are not alone on this journey. Hope every is staying strong and working their recovery plans.

I still haven't summed up the courage to go a meeting as yet. There is one close by on a Friday night. I'm a bit scared it will make me want to drink.
But I do plan on giving it a crack should I feel my sobriety is in doubt.

Mick- glad you went. I got the same advice early on and try to really follow it. Plenty of times I didn't want to, watched the clock when I did, had whatever negative attitude, and such- but I have always been glad I went. Have left some mtgs early when REALLY agitated, then dealt with what was disturbing me with my sponsor or other sober friend.
