Oh, yeah. Alcohol is waaaayyyy over the top glamorized. I don't know if they have it in the UK, but here in the US I just recently noticed while walking past the wine aisle (can't help it, it's right next to the produce!), they now have these 8 ounce cans of carbonated wine that almost look like energy drinks in brightly decorated cans. I can't tell if they are trying to market to women or to underage drinkers (catch them while they are young). I mean, really, if I saw a kid or someone at work with a can of this stuff at their desk, I would NEVER think it was an alcoholic beverage. So sneaky. I don't like it one bit, either!

Personally, I believe that low quality junk food (over sugared food in particular) is the primary cause of the obesity epidemic in the USA. Perhaps we can add this to the list of items that shouldn't be advertised in a positive manner.
