2 days Sober....
Hello.....I am 41 years old and I have been drinking along time. Over 20 years. I always binge drink. Blackout drinking. I would typically drink once a week but over the past year and a half I would drink 3-4 times a week. I don't even like beer anymore, I will sip on beer but take full drinks of whiskey. I can drink a full fifth of whiskey. I absolutely hate it. I feel empty inside. I can go a week without drinking and not have any physical symptoms but boy it's mentally rough. I really want to stop. My life will be 110% better if I do. Its scary. All I have to do is not take a drink, but it's so mentally rough. This time I'm doing it. I just joined this site and I'm going to use it as a tool

Congrats on making the decision to stop drinking. Since you're a binge drinker you know you can go days, weeks, or months at times without drinking. I would suggest to find some type of recovery program to help keep you sober. I too was a binge drinker it was difficult to fight off the obsession to drink. I was able to stay sober 9 months without a program but ended up relapsing. Then I finally joined AA and used their program of recovery which now has kept me sober 19 months. Any plan is better than just not drinking. Good luck Bama and roll tide.
