Hi guys, it's good to see people that there are people out there that haven't given up, and are willing to put away their pride for future gain. I myself struggled with the idea of alcoholism being a problem, but eventually was able to see the truth. In my mind alcoholism was merely an addiction, a substance abuse problem based on nothing more than one not being able to obstain from alcohol for an extended period of time. I didn't realize that there were in fact many different forms of alcoholism. I used my limited understanding to rationalize my over use. My hypothesis was that since I didn't drink regularly, or even every day that I must not have a problem. I could go long durations without getting wasted, and therefore refused to see my issue for what it truly was, alcoholism. But in truth I had a problem, I was unable to obstain from getting wasted. I didn't understand how this could be an issue. Maybe it's because males normally get started at a young age with their influential pals (just a guess). Anyway, I started getting wasted young, probably about 14 or 13. I didn't have access to it all the time in my early years due to obvious reasons. But when I did get my devious little fingers on a bottle I was going to one place, drunk land. I never understood the term moderation. I didn't understand the point, nor did I care to. Maybe all kids are like that, i don't know. But my point is there are many different forms of alcoholism. Some of which is not commonly known to the general public and therefore can warp ones general understanding of alcoholism entirely.
