Good to see you Hawkeye.

One of my neighbours owns a daschund she told me that a pop-up dog cafe is set to open one day a week. I don't have a dog myself but I am intrigued.

I had a stressful weekend. I am feeling a bit low and then trying to put on a happier face with my parents.

I didn't sleep well at all last night. My wrist is still hurting and I have physio this week. I had a nightmare last night that my arm had to be amputated and then the doctor made a mistake and took off the wrong one. I woke up panicking and freezing around 3 AM. (I have very strange dreams, usually a mish mash of things that happened to me throughout the day and everything is jumbled up in my head.)

At that stage I was just lying on the bed and trying to figure out what exactly is bothering me. As regards my "boyfriend" (and I hate that phrase as "boyfriend" and "girlfriend" are more suited to 17 - 18 year olds who think they will be together forever.) Anyway he did say he would call over sometime this week before his holiday. So what I have decided it boils down to is this:

I will stop obsessing over the situation as I really just want him to be happy even if that does not include me.

It's funny (and I know this will sound a little strange) but I was very cold in my bed up until that point. Then when I had made that decision I could feel this warmth radiating from my chest right down my body to my fingers and toes. He said he will return the first week of October and he will see me then and for my birthday and that will do for now. No one knows what will happen in the future.

I will leave you all with this. Have a good night all and a happy Monday.

I'm with ya, Sao.....that reminds me of something I learned from an online meeting....how it's important to keep working on recovery every day to fight off the AV.....it was compared to working out and preparing for a boxing match ~ you don't wait until getting punched in the face before you start training

No problem Erratic, you are sober, that is the most important thing!

For all of you in the path of todays Eclipse I wish you all good luck with the weather.

The concert was so amazing. Social Distortions lead singer Mike Ness sober from booze and heroine since 1985. Anyone interested look up his opener, Miss Jade Jackson.

Way to go Wrandi1!

I'm glad it was good sunshine - I did have to look up Social Distortions but then I am tragically unhip.

I'm sitting here at Ground Zero PNW waiting for this alleged eclipse. Just looking out the window, all is well.

Supposed to start in two minutes...ish...and then will take a couple hours to be over with...amazing that math can predict all this! We'll see. I'll report back.

It's a good thing Olive told me about the eclipse. I told her I probably would have thought the world was ending.

It has been mentioned on news broadcasts once or twice bim! I saw it on TV a few minutes ago - it reminded me of Sauron's eye.

This morning at work we were told that there were no beds available for any incoming patients as the general surgical team had them all booked. Thankfully I'm not on bed management this week but I had booked in a cancer patient on the orders of my doctor and it took my Colleague all day to get him admitted. I heard her say on the phone "I heard there are no beds as you have a patient for amputation up there? Are you serious?" Imagine an amputation up there on the ward after my dream. Thank God it is not me. I think I have a hard life but I don't really.

After I fractured my wrist my mom was telling me about soldiers who come back from war minus a limb and their brain thinks that the limb is still there and they are trying to move it. Some people get dealt a very hard life.

Anyway I'm at home watching The Rose Of Tralee - Ireland's beauty pageant which should have done away with centuries ago. Here is a classic clip from a few years ago:

My mom had a friend who lost her leg. I remember her telling us that she would sometimes get an itch where she had no leg to scratch.
