Returning to AA: What I'm learning

So this weekend I'm away from the big city where I live and I'm enjoying a break in a small town. I went to AA on Friday here and a nice person from the fellowship took me out for coffee yesterday. Turns out we're about the same age and went to the same school. It was good to have a listening ear. But I also realised how much he probably appreciated having the chance to share his concerns with someone from outside his usual tight-knight group. He probably felt freer to talk to me in some ways, knowing that I was only in town for a week or so. We're going to a meeting together tonight. I think that's worked out in a good way and differently to how I expected.

Good for you Learninganew...attending meetings whilst you're away and how great to have met a new person to spend time with whilst you're there x
