Good morning soberfriends - the joys of waking up sober

Hello soberfriends

So yesterday I had a health freakout because I thought my stomach had improved and it hadn't, anyway I went to the doctors and they reassured me that for people who had thrown up as often as I had It will be a few solid months before serious progress is made.

With that news I'm feeling a lot better, today, just need to change my diet and be a bit more sensible.

Anyway, it is 7am where I live and I just wanted to say that waking up without a hangover never gets old. It's simply wonderful. I'm going to have some fruit and a cup of tea and then I'm going to go for a swim and read a magazine. And that sounds wonderful. After that I can do what I want, why? Because I didn't drink, which means I get to enjoy the whole day feeling well and being able to enjoy life.

Not too long until I'll be sober for a month as well, which will be amazing.

Andagain, only my first morning of waking up sober in a week, but I too could get used to this. I assume it's your stomach lining? Have you tried any supplement to help heal it?

That great to hear. Sober mornings are a nice little gift to ourselves. I truly believe it is the little things in sobriety that are the most rewarding.

I agree. Isn't it wonderful?

Amazing how something so normal for most people seems like such a revelation and joy for us who've been abusing ourselves so long with alcohol. Shows how crazy it is!

It's truly one of the best things about sobriety and a continuing motivation for me.

Keep it up!

I am with you. I am sitting here in my hotel restaurant, drinking water and lemon. I am on a weekend getaway to NYC with my beautiful daughters. And I am rested, and marveling how the thought of drinking repulses me.

I am happy you are doing so well, and I hope to flllow your lead.

Yeah, I do always think that, I'm super happy about just normal life. My girlfriend has mentioned that she finds it quite endearing, the positivity I have for just not waking up in pain.

Haha! =) Closed right now, I think I'll get myself some jams for my breakfast tomorrow though.
