Step 1
 

Hi there. I'm new to recovery, 24 days to be exact. My sponsor gave me some homework & im sure most of you were given the same assignment for step 1. I'm to name 10 times I felt powerless & like my life was unmanageable. Maybe I'm overthinking it entirely. But I'm not sure I fully understand, & that's probably why it's important to make this list. I'm sure there's no right or wrong answer. I guess I just need an idea. If someone could give me pointers on how to begin it would be much appreciated. I know you clearly don't know my life, but any personal experiences will help.

I don't go to AA but I know that when I drank the booze had more power than I did.
