Vitamins and supplements used in recovery.

Hi. I'm in recovery and have some questions about vitamins.

What do you normally take and How much? I know vitamin B most people recommend but they never say how much.

I would like to hear what vitamins and supplements other people in recovery take and what for...

I hope I'm aloud to ask these type questions, if not just please disregard.

Thanks

I just take an extra B-Compex with my muti-vit.
Sometimes I add Folic Acid and L-Theanine.
Magnesium helps calm my nerves and Valerian Root at night. The dosages are on the bottles. I usually follow those twice a day.

KUDZU Anti Alcohol Support by Planetary Herbals. I swear by it. Read the instructions, take as directed.

I also take Vitamin B 100's, L-glutamine, Eluthero root tea, Daily Detox Tea, Himilaya LiverCare, Jarrow sustained release NAC, and Jarrow Milk Thistle.

Oh,,,, and I am planning on adding in Magnesium spray (apparently its best absorbed through the skin) to help with sleeping as well as panic attacks.

Hi wizzoo

I think its a good idea to check with your Dr or at least your pharmacist before taking supplements. Whats worked for others may not work or even be suitable for you.

Just a general reminder too - everyones done great so far but no recommendations - experience only in this thread please.

As for me, I took a multivitamin - dunno if it helped, but it didn't hurt

D

I take a multivitamin from a tub called "Multivitamins" a bought from the store. My girlfriend says I am buying expensive pee, and I think she very well might be right.

Have you seen your doc for any bloodwork, lately? I was taking supplements once I stopped drinking but was having really bad abdominal pains throughout the day. My bloodwork came back fine. When I told my doc about the stomach pains, she said they could be caused by the supplements. I quit taking them and no more stomach pains. Always good to get baseline bloodwork done before starting heavy on supplements, IMO.

There's lots of vitamins and minerals
located right in your fresh fruit and
veggies.

Protein powders for a supplement and
green tea have good results added in your
daily routine too.

Just a few suggestion to help. and.....

Everything in moderation and balance
for a healthier, happier you.

Thanks for the replies. I have communicated my intentions with my Dr. and he has recommended a few. I'm feeling a lot better except for the tiredness. I am extremely tired all the time. hopefully that will go soon.
