Just my opinion, i dont think there is
 

a certain thing that triggers you to become an addict,well for me, my belief is if you abuse something enough it takes over you, I had a fab childhood, always been loved, I just drank to excess because that was me, I think there are people that try and block things out because of a certain situation, but I dont think that applies to every addict

I agree. I have an addictive personality. And I am a perfectionist so when I fail at something, like succumbing to addiction, I beat myself up about it.
No traumatic experiences that I can say caused my addiction. I progressed into it because I enjoyed it at the start.

I got addicted at such a young age. 5 years old. My Dad was a drug addict and I was raised thinking getting high was the way to live. People that didn't get high were missing out.

I have forgiven myself and my Dad. While being an addict at a young age was not the right thing, it was pretty fun until I hit the wall in 2015.
