Out with Friends Sober
 

Last night was the first night I have been out with friends for months. I got through it sober. Went without a single drink to calm my nerves. It was so much better. I could follow the conversation, was alert and wasn't downing piles of coffee to help me. My self esteem was high as I wasn't paranoid I would breathe on someone and they would smell alcohol. I'm going out again tonight. Much nicer than watching tv by myself wishing for a drink. Or texting them to keep my secret.

Maybe over time you can suggest a few non alcoholic places to go though - hanging around in bars is not the best place for drinkers like us.
