Unintended consequence of sobriety? (maybe TMI--woman's checkup)

For the first time in years (I drank heavily for 6 to 8 years and around the clock for parts of the last two), I got a normal pap smear all around. I've had abnormal (but nothing too big--just had the secondary colos (something, sorry, running out of time).

Have no idea if this relates to a year of being sober, but I had normal ones before I started all this drinking.

Who knows, but relief. I even "joked" with the doctor when he said they'd call if it was abnormal and said, "well, I'm sure I'll be hearing from you. I always do."
