At age 35 and after 20 years of heavy substance abuse and addiction I am currently applying to rehab facilities for the first time ever to hopefully nip the last remaining aspects of abuse in the bud. As well as exploring treatment options Ive been looking at other things that might be of help and thought I'd give this forum a try

Welcome Lucan, I find SR to be a safe and supportive community. I use it a lot- especially at night. The more 'tools', the better. I also use meetings to get out of my head space and show to myself I have a real commitment to recovery. Perhaps join the Class of July 2017 thread.
