Question?

I have a little overy 18 months sober and a friend the other night had weed out. Exhausted from and discombobulated from work she asked me to roll her a blunt. I did and I tasted a small ammount of weed. Physical allergy kicked in and I puked. It made me sick to my stomach and has been on my mind. I did not smoke or partake in anything else.
My question is would you consider this a relapse. Also I'm a former heroin addict

you 'tasted' it?

or did you ingest it?

Seems like just a little taste of weed on the tongue wouldn't be likely to have such an intense impact on you....

but - the bigger question might be if sobriety is your goal - is being in a situation where you're being asked to roll weed for people serving that goal?

My answer doesn't amount to a hill of beans. What do you think? is the more important question. Make sure the answer comes from your heart and not your head.

I have more input on the whole enchilada, but the same input can probably be found in your heart.

Peace out. :~)

Hey and Welcome!
Congrats on 18 months sober.

I'm curious.. If you didn't drink ..
How can you question this to be a relapse?

I would not consider what you describe as a relapse but would question did you stay with her while she smoked it? If so then I'm thinking contact high. Might want to reconsider if this is the best place to be.

I personally have about 5 different sobriety dates for 5 different substances. My goal is to continue to stay sober from all 5 of them.

The bigger concern would be putting yourself so close to any of those addictions. I wouldn't feel safe. It would feel like playing with fire.

Hi and welcome willmcg

For me it would be a relapse because weed was one of my drugs of choice. I also commit myself to a straight life - but for you?

I think, as other people said, it's up to you and what you think

I think you put yourself in a dangerous place at a time you were especially vulnerable tho...and I'd be worried about that.
