I'm new to the group.

I'm waking up today ready to make some changes in my life. I have lost friends and now family due to my husband's alcoholism. He was diagnosed with Cirrhosis yesterday and was told he would die if he continued to drink. Last night he was drunk again. I have some choices I need to make. I've been reading the forums and it's clear after 21 years of marriage that his alcohol is what he lives for and will painfully die for too. I need to protect my kids, myself from this dismal life we have fallen into because of his muddied choices.

I'm sorry for what brings you here Twostepsup but this is a place of great support and understanding.

For what it's worth I think you're making the only real choice you can make for yourself and your kids.
