Vivid dreams about Children

I haven't seen my kids in person for over 5 years. Last night was horrible with bad dreams. I'm currently on day 4. I dreamt that I got reacquainted with them through my parents. My eldest turned out to be a nasty 17 year old. The youngest did her best to ignore me. My mother gave me a hard time. Half the reason I want to get sober is to eventually see them again so they can be proud of the new me. I'm really upset and disturbed plus feel exhaustion. Yesterday I felt fantastic. Is this the universe warning me? I have nothing in my life but a few friends. I was really excited about sobriety. Now I'm confused.

It's just a dream and maybe your subconscious working overtime. I do believe strongly that you need to be sober for yourself. It will be fantastic if you can be reunited with your children, but that can't be your sole reason for sobriety.

Maybe you could choose to replace the images from your dream with positive images about seeing your children again.

Good to see you on day 4!

Rest assured ... Dreams are not reality!

Those dreams are more likely the worries you have about reuniting with them. I'm sure I'd be very nervous (though excited) about doing something like that myself. Seems natural to be hopeful but possibly afraid things won't turn out how you want.
If dreams can be relied on to predict the future my teeth are about to fall out and my mother's going to turn into a cat.
Mine pretty much never become reality.
Keep up the good work with sobriety, and best of luck with your family.

Also early sobriety can be pretty crazy, as you might go through physical and psychological withdrawals, plus still need to find new ways of adjusting to problems. It can take time so don't get discouraged thinking that this is how you'll feel all the time sober.

you are still in detox and that can initiate weird dreams, among the thousand other symptoms. it was just a dream.

5 years. 3 days. you totally get to choose how many more days of sobriety you get.
