I just want to be done
I have been almost/mostly drinking daily for YEARS! It's unbelievable to myself. And something I don't tell anyone. It's embarrassing, but I can always excuse it as I just use it to sleep if anyone questions me. I had to make sure no one tries to stop me. I tried a few months ago to stop, and was successful for about a month. But once I had an uncomfortable night (excuse) I drank. And here I am now. So tired of always needing to be drunk. I hope I can use this community to hold me accountable. I don't wanna be someone's poison. But I'm sick as ever. Everday I tell myself "how about skip tonight" but every night I forget to skip it
Welcome to SR Misty,
Have you thought of talking to your dr? Some face to face support and accountability might help too?
What about making a plan for your day, including your bedtime routine?
What do you think were the factors in your successful month sober?
What do you think you could make work differently the next time you have a hard time sleeping?
Alcohol messes up with our sleep patterns and quality, so it can take awhile for our bodies to normalize after we quit drinking.
Are you ready to commit to sobriety? Having a good plan in place and getting as much support as possible will really help. SR is a great place to start
you will get a ton of support and ideas to help get you started.

Hi and welcome Misty
Joining up here and posting daily, or even more than that, really helped me.
More than anything else it helped me focus on the fact I really did have a problem and I really needed to make changes and do something about it.
SR helped me turn my life around.
I know we can help you too

Welcome, with the help of these forums I have succeeded on staying away from booze for over 5 months. It is hard at first, but after several months the benefits become clearer and clearer. Stay strong and continue posting and you will feel like a new person soon!
Welcome Misty. We all know that feeling of swearing in the morning that you are going to stop, and soon changing your mind as the day progresses.
You managed to quit for a month before, so you can surely get back on road once more. The support at SR will help a lot in and beyond the early stages. Plan on changing your routine to get ready for day 1. Rid your house of the stuff if necessary and commit to not buying any more.
It will get easier within a couple of days. Speak to your doc if you are worried about withdrawals.
