30 days and feeling better
This is all really new stuff to me....yesterday I had 30 days. I never thought I could live my life w/out heroin & pain meds....I never overdosed or anything, but I'm sure I was close to death more than i knew. I really like the AA/NA program. There is a ton of meetings here in Chicago and the surrounding areas. I entered a methadone clinic on Sep. 21st, and went there every day for the next 3 weeks. Then I made the switch to Suboxone, a new more less-addictive form of opiate-dependcy medication. I it's very hard to obtain, and I'm blessed to have found a doctor who understands the serverity of my addcition. I have not used any illegal drugs (or alcohol) since the day I went to the methadone clinic. It's nice to be able to come here and talk openly and honestly about this. I've never had such a strong will to live freely and be happy as I do now!! :

Hey GoPhish, Congrats on the 30 days!!! My name is mike, its nice to see some phellow addicts on here. Its great to have the will to wanna live happy and know that its possible without using substances to enhance our feelings. you have found a great place here, and in AA/NA. looking forward to hearing more from you.
