Days like this

Off to a daytime family event and I am so grateful for my sobriety. Previously, I would have been out last night until the early hours this morning, back to an after party and either slept in or not slept at all,and/or been too drunk or hungover to get myself organised, presentable and to arrive on time (that's if I didn't cancel altogether).

Instead of trying to hide my hangover and lie about my partying/drinking , feeling guilty and anxious and having to drink or eat through the day just to get by, being terrible company or worse - today, I get to be present, spend quality time with family and do it all whilst feeling fresh, happy and wholesome without any guilt or shame.

With every week that goes by, for all the pangs I still encounter and have to shut down, moments and days like this remind me of why I am so dedicated to stay quit.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day! :c011:
