Great stuff Gilmer, all the best to your new grandson! It is difficult for parents of children to prevent them from eating all the things that are bad for them and which are really heavily marketed as well.

Brenda I read that thread too, it was by FreeOwl who often has excellent insights.

No Crazy Golf tonight as people are on holiday, I saw the film Baby Driver instead and was highly impressed.

Congratulations, Gilmer! A lot of joy in your home today, for sure!

Way to go, MB!

Best to all who are here. I went to a spectacular concert last night -- the Preservation Hall Jazz Band -- but clearly am past the point where staying out to the scandalous hour of 11:30 p.m. and getting up for the work the next day comes very easily. A quiet night for me. Tomorrow brings a much-welcomed day-trip with two good friends.

On a foodie note, which you'll almost never hear from me, I think I may have created the world's most delicious grilled cheese tonight. Swiss and gouda goat cheese on whole wheat. My oh my oh my oh my.

Venecia - that sounds so decadent and delicious! I had sirloin shish kabobs with brown rice and an orange/poblano/red pepper relish. Mine was good, but yours sounds better.

Morning everyone.

Welcome to Weekenders CuteNGayYay! Congratulations on day 6.

On my second cup of coffee this morning. The canal was uncomfortably busy this morning.

I hope everyone made it through Friday, Saturday mornings are so much better hangover free.

Congratulations Gilmer. My daughter always loved her veggies and not so much the meat part. My son always hated veggies but ate his meat. His first word was 'luckyduck', which meant 'Chocolate' pudding.

Welcome to Weekenders CaptainHaddock, great sentiment too. There is little to beat waking up on a Saturday hangover free.

It is early morning still in North America, for anyone waking up with a hangover and thinking "enough is enough" try giving SR/ Weekenders a try. You really have nothing to lose.

I know there's not much they can do about people calling off sick but it's always me that's left alone with two clients that I can't change, dress or get out of bed on my own. It really isn't worth the one dollar extra I get an hour I'm by myself.

Kind of a quiet morning here. This afternoon, I'm getting together with my two best friends from h.s. for a drive down the Mississippi ... Wisconsin's Left Coast. It's exceptionally beautiful and I'm looking forward to the trip. We're doing this to celebrate our birthdays, one in August, one in September and one in October. We're, uh, turning 30. Should be fun, though it's supposed to be sweltering.

I was still drinking when we did this for our birthdays five years ago. We decided to do a tour of area vineyards. The hell of moderation for me. There is no such thing. I don't remember any more, but I'm quite sure I more than made up for it the next day.

Hope it's a good morning, afternoon and evening for all.

Gilmer....Congratulations!!!! You have another little guy! I bet the sibling visit was priceless.

LadyBlue and Sao...the feedback I got on Friday both for my team and from my team was very positive. So I am still quite happy. The feedback on myself, specifically, was muted but gently positive. Best I could expect, truly.

Venecia...hope you have a great day with your friends. I know going sober will be wonderful. You are so solid.

There is someone else I wanted to respond to, will have to review.

Family surgery yesterday went well, and the patient is feeling dramatically better today after a rough day and night. My worry has relaxed. And I now I want to celebrate.

Have to say it feels a little scary. That desire to celebrate. I'm going to read all over here on SR about how people do that.

I get the mechanics of how to celebrate sober, and have no problem with those. It is the emotional release that I am a bit stuck on. I don't know if I've done it sober yet. Not sure I know how.

Brenda, that isn't really ok, is it? Doesn't your agency have to provide a second pronto?

With my recent experiences I truly get the "cannot" as an absolute! In fact you cannot try, alone. It is not ok for you or clients. Revolt!

They try, and clients and their families don't seem to understand why it's so difficult, why can't they send a replacement.. Well, because it's Saturday morning and if people aren't previously scheduled to work, they aren't inclined to jump at the chance to cancel all their weekend plans.. This has been an issue with what I do.. I've worked 12 hours Saturday and Sunday for the past 18 months for the most part, if in school.. it is nice now, for the past six months I've had wifi and a lot of downtime at work to study but.. Yeah it is funny how often people scheduled to work on weekends get sick or have car problems.

It sounds like I sit and do nothing but they are hardly able to move because of the MS, and require a lot of care, it's just spaced throughout the day.. Bust my ass to do some of it alone.

Hi all, just found out we are going to a BBQ tonight at one of my BF's friends' house. Ugh. I've never been there without drinking - not because it was a good time, but because the guy is insufferable without a drink. Or so I thought before. He lives a long walk from here so after dinner I may check out and have a nice walk home while BF hangs out. I just have absolutely nothing to talk to this guy about. I thought maybe others were coming, but it's just us.

Oh well, I do have a planned escape and I have had a headache all day, so that's another excuse.

LOL!

Still, you owe it to the rest of your life and career to preserve your health. Read as "preserve your spine"! Good luck this weekend, BC.

Apple, that sounds like a good idea and good forward planning. Hopefully your BF will understand your early escape and help you exit. You can do this. We can't numb out the obnoxious anymore.
