You'll be fine!

I think I phrased my above comment badly. I wanted to emphasize that I am often irrational--I did NOT intend to imply that YOU are irrational!

Forgive me if I inadvertently put my foot in it!

I'm sure both medication and talk therapy do help, but they attack different facets of the problem.

seems if youre trying to rationalize, then youre trying to rationalize a thought is true when it isnt?

why not take your meds again?

I've stated before, scared of them not working and then im out of hope.

Not saying il never take them, just goona talk to a professional tomorrow and ask them if it wil correct certain thoughts.

Be gentle with yourself, especially in these early days of sobriety.

When your mind is tempted to roil and wrestle, stop and immediately divert it to something benign. If you can, utter a quick praise or thanksgiving to God.

You may have to do this deliberate diverting 100 times a day, but it will keep you from going into self-destructive territory.

chilled- sloooooooooow down. youre past isnt unique. yup, ya did and said horrible things- just as MANY have.
now, stop kikin yourself in the ass about it.
youre NOt a bad man, just a sick man.
bad men dont feel the way ya do about your past actions.
sick men do.
and theres solutions!!
personally my past is the most valuable posession i have. i used to try and drink it away or to forget about it. THAT never worked, although it wasnt until i got sober that i realized if it did work, i wouldnt have had to keep tryin to drink it away.
then when i got sober i faced it ALL and learned from it- learned what made me tick.
then worked at cleaning up the wreckage- made amends where possible.
now my past doesnt haunt me.
