My "Birth" day today and 20 days sober
Yes another year older and I am hoping for a bit wiser.
20 days sober and not going out to celebrate with my drinking friends. Going to take the dogs to the lake and let the swim and have a blast. That is the best present I can ask for.

20 days!!! Good on you, dear asixstringnut! Doesn't it just give you immense joy to see your doggies living a happy life? I watched in a video my mom's 3 pups frolicking on the beach in Oregon and I thought my heart was going to burst with happiness. What a simple pleasure they were experiencing and I got to live vicariously through them.

Ok. Why the hell do I feel like I have to have a drink because it is my birthday?
I took the dogs to the lake and they had a great time swimming and I had a blast throwing the ball for them.
The drive back the AV was talking away in my ear you need to get some wine and celebrate your birthday.
I know where I will end up if I drink but damn the dark force is strong today.
Damn alcohol......
I will be checking in later.

I think I am safe for the night. I started a diet om Monday limiting myself to 1200 calories or less. It has been going well.
Tonight I decided to eat what ever I wanted if it kept me from drinking.
Well it is working. I have a full tummy and I don't feel like drinking now. And I only ate 1413 calories so far today.
I need to remember HALT. Hungry triggers that lets have a drink talk.

Glad you made it over that hurdle, six. It happened less & less to me as time went on. Believe it or not I rarely think of drinking now - never thought that could happen. Congrats on your 20 days.
