Christmas Work's Party 🎄🎄🎄
We've just organised our Christmas work's party for December. It's a three course meal and a disco at a nearby film studio who put on Christmas events. By this point I will have 6 months of sobriety and as it's the same venue as last year I will be able to do visualisation exercises of the evening sober which will be helpful. In addition, my husband and I are trying for a baby so there's a chance I could be pregnant by then (fingers crossed). Anyway just needed to reassure myself, and remind myself, that parties do not have to = alcohol.

Hi Nova, I was sober at last year's Xmas work party and I had a great time. Two of my colleagues got so drunk during the meal they ended up having a fight in the bar and one of them fell onto a table and knocked a tooth out. Never been so grateful to be sipping cranberry juice and sober.
We're programmed to think that parties = alcohol. Just need to remember that's only half the equation. For us, parties = alcohol + shame + regret + hangover. Take alcohol out of the equation and a party = fun we get to remember the next day. Plus no shame next time we walk into work

Omg it's the fifth of July, lmao
Sounds like you have some very good motivation to stay sober, and having that mental goal of being sober at that Christmas party and being able to relax in that environment without alcohol is a good thing to focus on. Good luck.
