Maybe you can try a
women only AA meeting or just pick up the Big Book and read it on your own or 12 Steps and 12 Traditions. There are a few other ones, too.

It's like accepting that someone you once loved will never change and will always hurt you again. You can't change them, you do not have the power to do that. So your only choice is to stay away from them. You have power over yourself, you do not have power over your ex partner. Same with alcohol, you can't change alcohol and what it does to you, but you can change your action. We are alcoholics, we ARE powerless over alcohol. We are not powerless over everything.
