Day 43 Struggle

I struggled quite a bit yesterday. I received and accepted a job offer and that should be a positive thing, but not being able to share it with my husband was brutal.

Since I've become sober, all these positive changes have happened in my life, but there is a cloud hanging over them. Not being able to share them with my partner has been tough. It seems like everything good that happens reminds me that he is not there.

I ended up going to two meetings yesterday because I broke down and struggled to keep my mind off of my estranged husband. I don't miss my intoxicated self, but I do miss being with my husband.

I just want this pain to stop so I can enjoy the positive changes in my life, but there is always a reminder that he is absent.

I am hoping once I start my job, I will be distracted enough to get my mind off of my marriage. Some days are just so difficult.

Congrats on the new job, and good for you for going to two meetings instead of going to a bottle. Hang in there--keep doing the next right thing.

good on ya for the job, recognizing a problem, and hittin 2 meetings!
i had a LOT of insecurities when i got into AA.
thats a lie.
i had a LOT of insecurites loooooong before i got into AA yet didnt know it.
the steps helped tremendously with it all.
i cant remeber where you were in the steps, but the 4th step and beyond will help tremendously.

ya know, one sentence im glad is on pg164 of the BB and NOT in the front cover:
Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.
if i would have seen that "trudge" blahblahblah in the front- oh man!! LOLOLOL
but it is what it is- sometimes we have to trudge.

along with typin here, howz about pickin up that 2495 lb phone and callin a couple people in AA? maybe yer sponsor?

Congrats on 43 days of sobriety, AND the new job. I agree with you in that once you begin working again your mind will be focused on something other than your husband not being with you.

You're doing really well...just keep going. You never know what your new life may bring.

Hang in there Ggirl!! You are creating the new life the new you that will encourage him to follow. Addictions are difficult as we all know to break free from and we all had to come to our individual moment and chose sobriety. My prayer is that your husband will follow you to sobriety. He will have to find his moment, just let him know you love him.
