4th day being Sober

Hi all,

This is my 4th day of being sober.

I've tried and slipped couple of times before. I even slipped after being sober for a month.

I don't think i've enough confidence or I'm afraid that i'll slip again.

Well done on getting to day 4. Like anything the first few days are so hard. Just think if you can make it through one day at a time it should start to get easier. I have just woken up on day 8, I have had really bad anxiety this week. Yesterday was a killer but Although I feel tired I feel so relieved that it's Sunday and I'm not hung over or dreading what I did last night.

Well done getting those first four days under your belt. It will start to get easier soon. I have been sober a year and a half, but had been trying to get sober much longer than that. I finally focused on recovery, rather than not drinking. I focused on being healthy physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have really worked on mindfulness, and will continue with this one.

You should look into joining the June thread, you will find d the support of others who have also committed, or recommitted to sobriety this month. Also, join us in the 24 hour thread, you can make the commitment to remain sober for the next 24 hours. You will also find an incredible group of people who support each other daily through both the good, and the tough times.

Keep reading and posting, sobriety is so worth it!!

❤️Delilah

4 days is great and it does get easier / better... Trust me.

I suggest among other things... Get out and take a nice walk. I find it really clears my brain.

I like going to a local park or walking trail.... Peaceful...
Some fresh air won't hurt either!

Sobriety doesn't have to be a failing endeavor. Many many folks on this forum are proof positive. Some for as much as 30+ years. You can join the club starting today. Wish you the best.

I couldn't sleep for the first few days either. It had been months since I actually went to sleep, as opposed to drinking until I passed out.

I know it's different for everyone but for me it changed on day 6 (today is 9). The sleep will come, your body has to readjust. Don't give up, it's the best sleep I've had for years!

Well done on four days!
