Haven't joined one of these week-enders in a while. My weakest moments are when my son is away... and he is flying for the first time alone tomorrow until Monday to see family in Kentucky. I'm worried every which way... will keep busy and stay away from the booze... I've gotten better at dealing with this pending empty nest... but I still have weak moments... He is now 16 so time to let go...
Apprehensive but planning to stay busy and get through it. We can do this together Sunshine! Thanks for helping me realize that I'm not alone

I'm new
Hello 😊
I am new to this site and recovery. I am so relieved I have found this site. Weekends are the most difficult for me, especially when my daughter is away, as she will be this weekend. I miss her terribly and pass the time with drinking, alone. Not good. I am so ready for sobriety.

Welcome to Weekenders and SR Siyo! Sitting at home alone was tough for me - maybe go for a walk or see a film?
BrendaChenowyth i'm glad you're in a good place. I hope no one has put you off sharing.
Good to see you Ken and Happy Birthday!
For newcomers Kens avatar is Weasel and he along with Mecanix started this thread and used to write the opening post. Now he is sort of Weekenders CEO

Thanks for the birthday wishes Sao and everyone!!!! I turned 51 today. Being sober has lead to many new and exciting things that NEVER would have happened drinking and drugging.
I need to recharge my sober batteries with some SR today. Remind myself and always stay focused.
Heading to dinner at my fav place!!! The fromage and charcuterie are to die for and I am busting excited to get there.
Good to see everyone as well. feels like home around this thread.

Hi all, happy sober weekend! Spending this weekend packing and getting house up together. Staying near airport in 2 days time as have early flight for 10 day All Inclusive holiday. Actually not worried about drinking at all. The last time I drank still disgusts me so much I don't ever want to even risk going down that vile road again. The only thing I will struggle with is the sense of loss. But I intend to keep learning to fill my time up with different experiences and I'll be sure to check in!
Sorry to hear about dog, it sounds like your doing the right thing as much as it may hurt, they will go peacefully and comfortably.
Sending love to all that need and hope everyone has a great weekend, sounds like some of you are being very productive! Wish I had that motivation lol. I'm still so sluggish.

BTW this thread has been started every weekend now for over 4 years. I don't think I am wrong on that . Maybe longer but memories are not what they used to be now that I have ticked another year.
