Hey PK, I always keep an eye on what you're writing. Day 45 does have a nice feeling about it. It's halfway thru my 90 in 90 too. I hope you've had a really positive day

Dear Maudcat, it was BiminiBlue who taught me how to control and focus on breathing when I drove almost to London when I got lost after a meeting. It's been quite a while since I had a meltdown and I just panicked. Forgot all about breathing. I had enough sense to post here whilst she was inside at the bar, thank goodness.
I hope you are ok and thank you for being there x

Dear Thomas, you've helped so many people since I've been here. I hope you are looking after you. I don't want any more day one's. I had about four in April before I realised what it would take to get free of alcohol. Alcoholics always seem to want to do it on their own, and I was no different in that. But not any more. Safety in numbers.
Much peace to you

Beautiful JoJo, I always loved your avatar and you talk a lot of sense. I love the idea of a safe place in my head. I lived in LA for a while and used to love driving out into the desert with big open skies and deep quiet. Still too hot here (10.22pm) to think about that though. Love and hugs

Dear Matt, funny that when the obsession kicks in all other thoughts go out of my head. Perhaps it'll get easier with time to remember that it is just a thought and it can't actually do anything to me. I have to do the action, drink that first drink, that will cause the damage later on. Need to get some more new thoughts in my small-capacity-for-sense brain. Hope you're doing ok.

Hi Rosy. Thank you for coming to support me. You have no idea how much of a muddle I got in earlier or how important your presence is. I hope you're doing ok? It's dark here now and finally cooling down. And I think my head is too!

Hey Saou, thank you for your weekenders. I always follow them but I've been too dopey to learn the site for far. But I seem to have got over my fear of posting tonight so I may see you there next weekend. I hope you're doing ok tonight and are cool somewhere peaceful. Thank you.

Just found your original post weev and was going to post "scream weev, but don't drink." I now find that's exactly what you did. Good on you weev!

Weev - I've just now seen this & read through the whole thing - phew - relieved that you didn't cave.

The hardest thing for me to admit was that there'd never, ever be 'a nice glass of wine'. Always the whole bottle. Then another. Off and running for months - possibly years. Took me decades to realize willpower was never going to work for me - once that first drink hit it was all over.

Happy you are here & safe.

weev, them numbers work best when yer bonkers!
THATS when the hand of AA is there- to help through the rough patches of early recovery.

weev, a question for ya:
have ya ever helped someone out, seen how appreciative they were, and it made you feel good?

I'm so glad you got though Weevl

I agree with TomSteve - people give out numbers cos they want you to call - it's not an imposition - and when you're bonkers is probably the time you need to be talked down the most

Hey Weev. Hope you've enjoyed a lovely peaceful day after yesterday's shenanigans. It's true what they say.....cunning, baffling, powerful and I also add patient. I'm assured that each time we need to dig a little deeper and flex our sober muscles that we come out of it stronger. I pray that is true. Take care hun and swish that shiney hair! ❤❤❤
