This particular area was never ready for the degree of commercial development it's seen in the past decade.. there is so much **** on that strip and traffic is a cluster fudge.

I'm so annoyed I keep getting stuck with these clueless young girls. I don't want to be a manager or a trainer. I want someone who knows this job and wants to step in and do their share of work. Stop ***** footing around, step up and be involved. Open your mouth and ask questions, find out how you can help. Cause if you're not working, you shouldn't be getting paid.

Hi all.

Hope everyone is having a good sober weekend and I hope the weather is as nice where you are as it has been round here. Tyneside has been hotter than Orlando!

Morning everyone, I went outside with the intention of going for a short run but it is too warm already so I walked instead.

Good to see you Tynesider - it is predicted to reach 32C or 90F today.

Nice Pic lunar. I think summer is over, it's been fall weekend weather here.

My work project was flop. First I get in to discover that finance was having and all day pow wow and needed another hour. If I had announced that system maintenance was scheduled, I could have kicked them out.

Prep time took me an hour and then on the first move, I immediately ran into problems. Everything I did to end run it also had road blocks. So I brought everything back to normal and wrote an e-mail to support. We'll deal with it during the week and modify the plan for next week end.

Everything go OK for you Bix?

Jumping in late for the Long Days, Long Nights Weekender thread. The struggle is constant now, with pain issues coupled with the decision to help our near-14-year-old greyhound pass in a week's time (sooner if he shows further decline). we've had him for 12 years, he's a former US racer and well, raced into our hearts the moment we saw him.

That is a gorgeous pic, Lunar!

Hope all are well today.

Thanks, as always, to Sao for a great opener. Lots to think about there.

I am sorry for your situation Argillaceous but you can console yourself that 14 years is a good age for a greyhound.

Hi, weekenders.

I am slowly getting back to my regular workout routine. Did shoulders and triceps. I do hope it will help to kick depression out.

Lunar - gorgeous photo!

See you all)

Good stuff MB.

I don't have air conditioning as there are only a few days in the course of a year when it would be needed. Today is one of those days. I have been going in the shower and gradually turning it down until it is as cold as I can stand.

So I got a fathers day surprise with some new pannier bags for my bike. They are really good ones to. I had mentioned last year that I wanted to get new ones. But my motivation at the time was due to my old ones becoming a little too rag-tag for carrying cases of beer. I'll find better uses for these tho.

One of the stories I like telling is the year our central air-conditioning broke. It was late in the summer heading into fall anyway so we didn't replace it right away. My wife regaled us with stories of how she never had air conditioning growing up and that we really didn't need such luxury. So needless to say she was against replacing it. The following summer approached, the kids were young, and we planned a start of the summer dinner party for friends. The day of the party, a Saturday, was abnormally the hottest day of the year. The kids were miserable and our guests could not wait to get into their air conditioned cars and go back to their air conditioned homes. Sunday morning, my wife made one phone call. By the time I got home Monday afternoon, the new air conditioning was installed and running. no questions asked.

Welcome to the Weekender thread, Argillaceous ~ sorry about your situation.....I love greyhounds! I'd like to adopt one of the retirees someday. I'm sure he's had a great life thanks to you!

argillaceous, there aren't enough hug emoticons I could display right now. Sadly, our kitty took a turn for the worse yesterday evening. it was clear just how badly he was suffering and we made the call. The vet wanted to admit him come Monday morning and put a feeding tube in him and do shots to rehydrate him quickly. If you could have seen him last night I couldn't allow him to go on any longer like that. He was suffering, bad.

It was a horrible decision to have to make.

My thoughts are with you argillaceous.

I went to my mum's funeral today. I felt guilty for not being upset but she was estranged from both my sisters as well as myself so now I'm just glad it is over

I wouldn't feel much of anything if I went to my father's funeral.
